Chandigarh, March 22, 2025: Bihar Foundation Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Punjab Raj Bhavan, where Sh. Gulab Chand Kataria, Governor of Punjab and Administrator of UT Chandigarh, presided over the event.
The celebration, held under the spirit of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, showcased Bihar's rich cultural heritage through an array of captivating performances. Traditional folk dances, soulful musical presentations, and cultural programs presented by Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Akademi highlighted the vibrant and diverse traditions of the state, leaving the audience spellbound.
In his address, the Hon’ble Governor extended warm greetings and emphasized that Statehood Foundation Day celebrations provide a unique opportunity to understand and appreciate the traditions and cultures of different states. He added that such events, held at Raj Bhavans across the country, strengthen the spirit of national unity while celebrating India's cultural diversity.
Praising Bihar’s immense contribution to the nation’s cultural and historical legacy, the Governor remarked that Bihar’s culture is among the richest in the country, with a civilization dating back to ancient times. He highlighted that Bihar is the sacred land where Mata Sita was born, where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment, and which serves as the birthplace of Jainism. He also noted that the tenth Guru of the Sikhs, Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, was born on this hallowed ground.
A video message from the Governor of Bihar and a documentary film showcasing the state’s cultural and historical significance were presented during the event. The audience was enthralled by mesmerizing performances of Bihar’s folk music, dance, and poetry, which beautifully captured the essence of the state’s heritage.
The celebration witnessed the presence of dignitaries, officials, and members of the public, making it a memorable occasion that honored and celebrated the spirit and cultural richness of Bihar.
