CHANDIGARH, 25.09.24-Dev Samaj College of Education celebrated 'NSS Day‘ on 25th September 2024. Chief Guest on the occasion was Dr. Nemi Chand, State Liaison Officer, NSS Chandigarh Administration.

The main objective of the celebration is to spread awareness among the participants about the role and significance of NSS Unit in the welfare of society. National Service Scheme Day is observed every year on September 24 across the nation. NSS aims to provide hands-on experience to young students in delivering community service.

Prof. Richa Sharma, Officiating Principal of the college, welcomed the students of new batch of 2024-26 who were formally inducted to the college by Mrs. Charanjeet Kaur in a special ceremony ‘Deeksharambh’ as per the U.G.C. guidelines. The students were oriented about guidelines and meticulous achievements of the college. New students also administered the professional oath of teachers dedicated to the vision and mission of Dev Samaj. Dr. Nemi Chand highlighted the importance of discipline and education in the empowerment of a person. He further elaborated that hard work is stronger than destiny. The program included few cultural performances as well. Prof. Agnese Dhillon, Secretary, Dev Samaj appreciated the NSS Program Officers for organizing the event in a thoughtful manner.
